THE DAY I GOT MAULED BY A TIGER...(read on..)

So...today...i'll start with the boring stuff...

woke up this morning around 7am, and waited for the girls to get up. Did some emailing, and then chatted to some special people back home (which was nice!). Then, made breakfast.

We were planning on going to PRINCE EDWARD today (not to be mistaken with the island). It is a outdoor market downtown with tons of cheap goods! (ie--purses and shoes uber CHEAP, they're basically GIVING THEM AWAY) But, sadly, that plan was thwarted due to massive downpour. (we'll definitely go another day).

Instead, Barb and i went to the clubhouse (attached to their appartment complex) and decided to partake in some of the activities. We asked if the ping pong rooms were available-- nope, all booked up... We asked about the bowling lanes (yes, they have bowling lanes) but sadly, all booked up...we asked if the karaeoke rooms were available, and VOILA, karaeoke was available!!! So we sung our little socks off for about an hour and a half.

We then went for coffee, one of my favourite things (if you didnt know). Delicious. Then we took the MTR (subway) to my brothers new appartement about an hour away. He was having a work out bench delivered and assembled, and i helped him put up his new curtains...

After chris', we walked for about 12 minutes to the flat of my sisters friend becky (she was having a bunch of girls over for drinks). We hung out there, Chris came too, for a couple of hours before venturing to Lan Kwai Fung (a bar district downtown--like hess village times about 20)-- apparently a hot spot for nightly activity. SOOOOOOOOO many people everywhere, i couldnt believe it! And all of a sudden my sister and i both happened to look down as we were walking down a few stairs, and saw a skittering creature run accross my view. I swore it was a mouse, but NO, a COCKROACH... oh my god, HUGE! we screamed like girls, and ran to catch up with the others.

We ended up in a bar called YUMLA, fun music, and AIR CONDITIONING on FULL BLAST (always a plus). There was about 10 of us in total so we were a rather large crowd in the middle of the small bar. All of a sudden, i saw someone looking at me out of my periphery. Some guy- a whitey (thats what they call us), kind of staring, but in a strange way...doing weird things with his eyebrows. (i didnt know what he was doing, so i just kind of looked at Barb, to see if she saw him too, and yes, she had). So, he went and sat with his other friends who happened to be sitting right next to where we were standing. And, seconds later, he looked at me again, doing the strange eye thing, and then sort of growling....(barb was watching too). Then, he grabbed for my arm. (i wasnt sure what to make of this fellow). Then he growled again, and raised his arms in a tiger like fashion...this carried on like this for about 5 minutes. So STRANGE. Then he grabbed me again and licked my arm...who does that?! The tiger man attacked me!!! (we left shortly after that-- not because of the tiger man, thats coincidental, but because barb has to work in the morning.)

and, this brings us to now, back in the appartment, safe, showered, hydrated, and ready for bed.

This concludes the story of the day i was mauled by a tiger.

Hmmm... tigers in HK, huh?!?!?!? Only you would attract such oddities!

We're loving the pics, so next time have your camera with you so that we can have proof of the tigers, etc!

I'll leave the stories of boys to the younger crowd and let you know that I'm uploading new pics of George into FB!

Missing you as you re-explore HK!
